Gerald W. Blume

Gerald W. Blume is General Counsel, Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. He also serves as Associate General Counsel of The Rockefeller Group, the parent company. Mr. Blume joined the company in 1990, and during his tenure with The Rockefeller Group he has accepted increasing responsibility and has played a significant role in a number of important transactions.

He was heavily involved in the acquisition of The Green at Florham Park and subsequent transactions that brought the New York Jets and BASF Corporation to the project. He negotiated the purchase and financing of 1101 K Street in Washington, D.C. He also negotiated a contract of sale with The City of New York to acquire a 5-acre site in Flushing, on which The Rockefeller Group intends to build an $800 -million mixed -use project. Mr. Blume also represented The Rockefeller Group in connection with its partnership with MeadWestvaco to develop an industrial park in Charleston, SC, and the lease for the first tenant of the park; 745 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan; a mixed- used town center project in Miramar, Florida; Lucent’s Caribbean and Latin American headquarters in Miramar, Florida; development of the International Trade Center in Mt. Olive, NJ; and significant leases in Rockefeller Center.

Prior to joining The Rockefeller Group, Mr. Blume was an Associate at the New York City law firm of Willkie Farr Gallagher. For four years he served as President of Urban Pathways, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting New York City’s homeless, where he remains a member of the Board.

Mr. Blume holds a BA degree from the University of Connecticut and a JD degree from Columbia Law School.
