Scott Flatley is Director of Design & Construction for the Southern Region for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation based in Miami, Florida. Mr. Flatley is in charge of all design and construction activities within the region, including conceptual estimating and scheduling, design management, evaluation and selection of design professionals and contractors, and construction oversight for all ongoing projects. In this capacity Mr. Flatley works closely with the development team on building acquisitions, due diligence, and overall project feasibility studies.
Recent RGDC projects include a new 1.1 million sf distribution center for a national tire company near Charleston, SC; a 1.5-million-square-foot distribution center in Social Circle, GA for General Mills; and construction of the first phase of Miramar Town Center, a 54-acre mixed-use development in Miramar, FL, which included 55,000 square feet of office space, 172,000 square feet of retail space, and 562 residential units.
Before joining RGDC, Mr. Flatley was a Development Manager with the Related Companies, where he was responsible for predevelopment, permitting, building and interior design, sales and marketing, construction/project management oversight, and turnover for more than 1,500 luxury residential condominiums located in various mixed-use developments in Florida. These developments consisted of 30-, 40-, 42- and 52-story high-rise buildings.
Mr. Flatley also held various construction and project management positions with BE&K Engineering & Construction of Birmingham, AL, where he completed numerous industrial projects nationally, including combined-cycle power plants; $500 million in pulp, paper, and recycle projects; pharmaceutical labs; a new US automotive assembly plant for BMW; and over $100 million in DOD contracts requiring high-level security clearance. These projects included warehousing, fully automatic robotic buildings, clean rooms, and heavy blast-proof building design.
Mr. Flatley graduated with honors from the University of Florida with Bachelor of Science degrees in Construction Management and Civil Engineering and earned his Masters of Business Administration in Real Estate Development & Finance from Emory University.
Mr. Flatley is as a LEED Accredited Professional and an accredited Green Roof Professional.
